What is a home ergonomic assessment?

A home ergonomic assessment takes place at your home.  One of our experienced consultants will come to your place of residence to evaluate your home office.  Whether you work at a desk, couch, or stand with your laptop at the kitchen counter, our ergonomic specialists will provide recommendations to help reduce discomfort, ergonomic risk, and prevent injury.  

How can a home ergonomic assessment help?

The home assessment could be right for you if you or your employee reports discomfort or want to reduce your ergonomic risk while working from home.  Many of us work awkwardly at home.  We often bend forward at laptops, type while laying on the couch, or use a non-adjustable chair.  With the home ergonomic assessment, we provide individualized ergonomic tools, strategies, and product recommendations to improve comfort at home.  

How long does the assessment take?

The home ergonomic assessment takes between 40 and 60 minutes.  This includes a home office analysis, a 10-15 minute client interview, and onsite recommendations.

Will I receive a written ergonomic report?

Yes.   In the written report, the ergonomic specialist will analyze how you or your employee’s interfaces with their computer and provide ergonomic recommendations.  In the report, we will also describe the reasons for each recommendation.  If product recommendations are made, we provide estimated pricing and vendor information.  

What do you charge per ergonomic assessment?
